Leigh Harwood

Leigh Harwood is the Development and Marketing Coordinator at Dancing Grounds. Originally from Washington D.C., she began her dance career with Joy of Motion Dance Center where she was a member of the youth Hip Hop company Urban Impact. Leigh moved to New Orleans in 2011 to attend Tulane University where she received her B.S in Psychology (2015). Leigh became introduced to Dancing Grounds in July 2014 as an adult student in weekly classes and quickly became more & more involved. After several months working on the reception team, Leigh and DG developed an internship (Assistant Development Coordinator) to support DG’s fundraising efforts. Leigh finally became a full-time staff member upon her graduation in May 2015 and subsequently took on additional role as Marketing Coordinator. She is thrilled to be a part of the Dancing Grounds family and larger community. Outside of her work, Leigh is passionate about combating social and racial injustice through participation with local groups groups such as Step Up Louisiana and European Dissent.
