Brieze Levy is a dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist working as Studio Manager at Dancing Grounds and the Arts Enrichment teacher at Akili Academy for grades 3-7. She attended Bard College in New York, graduating with a B.A. in Dance and Religion. At Bard, she studied with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, including Leah Cox, Paul Matteson, and Stuart Singer. Brieze started dancing when she was three in the Florida Keys and has yet to stop. Since moving to New Orleans in 2012, Brieze has danced in the CAC Distillery and in the New Orleans Fringe Festival with Maritza Mercado-Narcisse and with BUKU Dance Krewe, as well as other local choreographers and venues. She organized and choreographed a variety of improvisation structures with a group called the Guerrillas, who have performed traveling pieces around the Bywater and in front of NOMA.
